Honeymoon in Venice: a magical January sunrise
Honeymoon in Venice: you can plan a honeymoon photoshoot in the early morning, and you know that in Venice it will always be great. But you can never be sure about the weather. After some years of experience I found that, despite the common idea, winter is magical for photography. It can be incredibly challenging for the couple, especially if you want to wear a long fancy dress and a nice suit: photographs are going to be amazing and it is possible that you’ll be freezing after a couple of minutes! In that case I’ll bring you to the closest café for a hot coffee or chocolate.
Nicole and Angelo’s honeymoon in Italy had Venice as the last stop. They visited Rome and Florence, and then came to Venice with an idea in mind: they were looking for a misty foggy day kind of feeling for their photoshoot. That’s what you expect in the north of Italy, at the beginning of January. But when we met in St. Mark’s square we were all surprised by a warm sunrise who lit Piazza San Marco. All the lights were red and orange and changed so fast.
Nicole, an art teacher, and her husband Angelo came from Florida, United States, to enjoy the abundance of art and history Italy has to offer. We walked and chatted, they laughed and joked all the time, making it so easy to take candid photographs. I decided to create a gallery in both color and black and white photography, because the harsh light created beautiful complex images.
